Interview with Alan Morales, organizer of the International Book Fair in Perù
Hello and thank you for agreeing to be interviewed.
You are the organizer of the Virtual Book Fair in Peru. This second edition coincides with the bicentenary of the conquest of the country's freedom. How did you celebrate?
Really very well, it was a virtual and also face-to-face experience. We celebrated in Jauja city, that it’s reconigzed by the first city in Perú and we promoted many editorials, and enjoyed books presentations and music and dance performances.
How did the preparatory phase of the fair take place? How much did it cost you in terms of time and effort?
We prepared that fair since six months ago, because we were loking places to do this fair, and Jauja was the first place that admitted it. We make twice the effort.
Are you satisfied with the results?
Yes, very satisfied and happy.
Which events did you like most?
I liked the music performances, because i learn more for music genres that it’s my passion. Also the presentations of historical topics.
Which literary genre and what foreign authors do you prefer?
I don’t have a preferred literary genre, because i read dramas, fantasies, stories and more. And one of my favourites authors is Gabriel García Marquez.
What is your bond with Italy and with the poet Emanuela Rizzo?
We did the Fiera Virtuale del Libro Italia in March of this year and it was one of the best experience. We prepare for months to learn the language and be able to present our project for that beautiful country.
Emanuela Rizzo is a cultural ambassador of our fairs, she promotes authors and artists to participate in our events where the project goes in any country.
Is there anyone in particular that you would like to thank for the achievements?
First of all, my parents for the training they gave me, specially my father who is in heaven and who thaught me a lot about how to look at the world before he left, also my son that he is my motivation to continue to do our projects, and all the organization of this project, my partnert César Salvatierra, all of my coworkers, all the cultural ambassadors, and also to you Chiara for the interview and Emanuela who is the connector of this.
